Course Overview:

Science is universal and medical science is no exception. We do not believe that there can be separate systems of western and Indian medicine. In Western medicine, the person is considered as an amalgamation of cells and tissues forming organs. However, in Ayurveda we view them as a unique individual made up of five primary elements. This is just an insight into one of its many theories. This course will give participants a good understanding of the Basic principles of Ayurveda and its concepts.

Course contents:

Course includes a brief introduction and history of Ayurveda, Fundamental principles of Ayurveda - Evolution and Panchamaha bhootha Theory, Three Dosha Theory (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) - Dosha, Dhatus & Mala, Prakriti (doctrine of the individual constitution), Dinacharya and Rutucharya, Sadvritta and Brahmacharya with the Concept of Manas and Atma, Ayurvedic Concepts - Concept of Srotas, Agni, Ama and Kriyakala, Vyadhi( Disease) and Pancha – Nidana

Course Learning Hours: 6 hours Tutor & practical facilitated learning daily (49 hours for 7 days)

Facilitator: Dr.Prasanna Aithal
